and where it all began
I remember dreading music theory in choir as a young child as my brain couldn’t quite comprehend it. When on stage we’d perform “concerts” and when I would forget everything, I’d lip sing. I realised after never wanting to sing in a choir again, I could make music without knowing what note, key or rhythm it was in. That’s when it all changed. Though I still don’t know how to read music, I really like making it.
I began to find solace in music — peace and connection. I made it my own way to understand and express myself. That’s when I started street busking, and that’s where fear met excitement.
“Finding comfort in the discomfort”
When I see performers in the street, I think there is a sense of freedom of speech there and at the core of it, it creates a space that brings people together. There’s a beautiful thing that happens when a crowd of people gather to experience something they all enjoy.

Music has led me to so many beautiful places, incredible people and amazing opportunities — playing gatherings, markets, gigs, events, festivals, conferences, ceremonies and in sacred space. It’s these experiences that I’ve witnessed the constant change, the ebb and the flow as I’ve grown as an individual and artist. There is the continuous metamorphosis between myself and music. And that’s something I’ve found to embrace through my experiences of self-expression.
From choir, to busking, to playing on stages around Australia, I hope to inspire others to live out their dreams and follow their passions too. I hope to be a small pebble in the pond, leaving a ripple effect of kindness to others with my music and sharing medicine to the people.
